Welcome to the ILP Wiki!
What you have found is what we here hope will become an invaluable resource to foster youth, service providers and family and friends of those in the foster care system. Please take a look around and we hope that you find the answers that you are looking for. The site functions exactly like Wikipedia so use it as you would that website.
What is ILP Wiki?
What we hope to provide are answers to commonly held questions for both youth and adults who operate in and out of foster care that are beginning to think about or are already living on their own. Questions of legality, foster youth rights, ILP services and community resources are just some of the information we hope to make more easily available.
How does it work?
ILP Wiki is a community effort. We need and want the cooperation and help of both youth in the system and adults who work outside. We will be providing instructions on how to create and edit pages in the near future but our system uses the same program as Wikipedia. Here is a detailed page on how to create and edit pages. I will be trying to create an easy to understand guide that you can use to help build the site. You can also take a look at some of the pages already made by clicking "edit" up top to see the code. This should give you a building block upon which to create a basic page.
Where do I start?
We have started several categorical pages based on input. Please be patient as we update the site. We recommend using the "search" tool to the left. It will scan entries with that actual word as well as if that word appears on a page. It is very useful.

Program Databases
What I hope to accomplish here is a comprehensive compilation of ILP, THP+ and any other common agency that works with foster youth. Each agency can create their own separate pages that the youth can look at for information on the program, the people involved and even upcoming events. The beauty of the Wiki is that is always available for edit. If it's not your thing, you can simply post a link to your website. Our goal is to have every county in the country eventually included. This could be a tremendious resource for youth that move around from county to county.
